Personal Background and Artistic JourneyI was born in Syria and developed a passion for art early on, a passion that eventually led me to pursue a creative life. My journey has been marked by a constant search for meaning within the layers of reality. Since moving to Vilnius, Lithuania in 2016, I have embraced the contrasts of my new environment while staying deeply connected to my roots. This personal and geographical transition has enriched my visual narrative, driving me to explore themes of transformation, melancholy, and the unexpected ways in which life reshapes itself.Education and TrainingBachelor of Fine Arts, Damascus University, Damascus, Syria (2007 – 2011)My formal training at Damascus University laid the foundation for my technical and conceptual approach to painting.Workshops and MentorshipsOver the years, I have supplemented my academic education with various workshops and guidance from established artists, which have further honed my skills and enriched my understanding of contemporary art.Artistic Style and InfluencesMy work interrogates the dialectical relationship between art and the ever-shifting reality we inhabit. I view each painting as an unfinished inventory—a collection of fragmented objects and figures that together form a narrative about our desire for beauty and the inevitable presence of melancholy. From an external perspective, my style is defined by:Conceptual Inquiry:The images I create are not merely representations but are visual meditations on the interplay of presence and absence, challenging viewers to confront the hidden subtexts in everyday life.Emotional Ambiguity:By eschewing overly explicit symbolism, my work invites multiple interpretations, suggesting that the true essence of our experience often lies in what remains unsaid or unseen.Influences of Expressionism:Drawing on the expressive power of early expressionist art, I strive to make the inherent pain and beauty of the human condition visible, using a language of color, form, and negative space to evoke a sense of both urgency and introspection.Exhibitions and Professional ExperienceSolo Exhibitions:Misshapen Pearl – Vilnius Ramintojos Bažnyčia, 2020SECOND BIRTH – Vilnius State Small Theater, 2016Solo show at the Gallery of the Lithuanian National Commission for UNESCO, 2016Solo exhibition at House of Puglu, 2016Group Exhibitions:DIALOGUE – Kaunas Medicine and Pharmacy Museum, 2018 (Featured series of portraits)Collaborative exhibitions in Damascus, including Fine Artists Forum (2013) and a group show at Ayam Gallery (2012)Awards and Recognitions:Lithuanian Scholarships for Visual Art – Awarded in 2016 and 2020 for artistic excellenceHonored at the International Visual Arts Festival “Šiaulių Monmartro Respublika” in 2016 for creative expression and outstanding participation
